Governor Abiodun appoints Laycon Ogun youth ambassador, gifts him ₦5m, house

26-year-old, winner of the reality television show, Big Brother Naija, Olamilekan Laycon Agbeleshe has been appointed as a youth ambassador by Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun.

The governor also announced the donation of N5 million and a three-bedroom bungalow to the BBNaija winner at a ceremony which was held on Tuesday.

The appointment was announced while the governor hosted Laycon and his team in his Oke Mosan, Abeokuta, office.

Mr Abiodun said that the celebration was beyond the entertainment the house provided but it is celebrating Laycon who represented virtue, intellect and all-round talent.

“To celebrate you, we have made you the youth ambassador of Ogun State. I personally look forward to you being a model of good character, excellence, good virtue, honesty, and integrity to the youth of Ogun State.

“To enable you to do your job, motivate you, as well as motivate others, we are giving you a three-bedroom bungalow and in addition to that, we are giving you a sum of N5 million,’’ he said.

The governor said the appointment given to Laycon was to motivate him to spend more time in his home state and to help inspire the youth, and engage them to stop vices like robbery, drug abuse, cultism, fraud, 419, and others.

Mr Abiodun congratulated Laycon on emerging the winner of the BBN show and conveyed his hope that his good character will be modeled by the youths.

He said, “One of the lessons that should be learnt from your success is that twenty of you were locked down in this house and you all came from different backgrounds and you were charged to relate with each other responsibly.

Nigerian singer, Oxlade has revealed the current medical condition of his manager, Ojah B who was beaten and tortured by the Nigerian police during the Surulere #EndSARS protest a few days ago. 

Oxlade was injured at the Surulere #EndSARS Protest in Lagos a few days ago and his manager,  Ojah B was tortured and beaten up by the Nigerian police but later released after the intervention of numerous celebrities. However, after a medical check-up, it was revealed that his manager has a swelling in his brain and can’t control his fingers.

A devastated Oxlade took to Twitter to make the revelation. He wrote: “my brother has a swelling in his brain and he can’t control his fingers, thanks to the Nigerian Police. Thank you Nigerian government for failing the youth. I am lost for words right now, but please keep my brother In your prayers

Falz writes letter to President Buhari, seeks reconstitution of the National Human Rights Commissions board

Singer and one of the frontline campaigners for #EndSARS, Folarin Falana aka Falz, has written a letter to President Buhari calling for the reconstitution of the governing council of the National Human Rights Commission.

In his letter, Falz said the board was last constituted in 2015 and that there is a need for the Buhari-led administration to reconstitute the council publicly and transparently as a way of restoring the confidence of Nigerians.
